Situated 1,660 feet above Napa Valley, the location, soil profiles and elevation of the Cold Springs Vineyard are enough to make even the most stoic wine geek swoon. The topography is so varied, there’s no single vantage point that gives you a sense of the whole, but rather, it offers little secrets to be discovered around every bend.

The vines, hand selected each year, are rooted in white tufa, red and brown loam, and iron-rich volcanic ash. These varying soil types are cherished elements that contribute to a wine with an impressive bouquet of perfectly ripened black and blue berries, cassis, and black cherries. As the wine evolves, aromas of dark berries intensify with savory hints of dark chocolate, tobacco leaf, and cigar box. These aromas carry through to the palate for a rich and juicy mouthfeel, followed by a long finish with spicy notes of nutmeg and cloves. This is a wine that should be enjoyed with family, friends, and food.
